Hi Matt, that is true, every time that you use an API you are actively sending your data somewhere.

What I meant is that you are, at least, not sharing the data with streamlit as well, that is another layer of “worrying” in that sense.

But I agree, if you want to just download a model and run it on your computer, OPENAI is not your bet, and it probably won’t will as the direction is to close sourcing it more than opening the code to the public.
